Rachel McAdams has been confirmed for the cast of Guy Ritchie’s forthcoming Sherlock Holmes movie.

She will star opposite Robert Downey Jr as Holmes, Jude Law as Watson and the villian, named Blackwood, will be played by Mark Strong.

Snatch director Ritchie was contracted by Warner Bros Studios in June to direct a picture based on an as-yet-unpublished graphic novel take on Conan Doyle’s most famous creation.
