Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman have signed on for the comedy The Baster, in which Bateman’s character dupes Aniston’s character into having his child.

The directors of Blades of Glory, Will Speck and Josh Gordon, will direct. Curiously, the script is adapted from a short story by Jeffrey Eugenides, who wrote the book Virgin Suicides as well as one of my all-time favorite books: Middlesex.

Film will begin shooting in the spring.
