Attorney Matt Murdock has been blind since an accident when he was a child. However, his other senses have heightened to superhuman levels. His hearing even gives him a “sonar” which more than compensates for his lack of real sight. Using these abilities and his incredible physical training, Matt protects the innocent and punishes the guilty as the costumed hero Daredevil.
